Personal mission statement of my teaching
VITAM IMPENDERE VERO (motto of my alma mater; Juvenal: Life dedicated to truth)
as well as PRESERVING MEASURE AND MEANING (according to Confucius, Lun Yu - Conversations).The following aspects are the motivation and compass of my actions:
- Training at the demanding level required in industry and research institutions
of professional and personal competences in interdisciplinary relation to Biotechnology - Orientation towards the goal of achieving the maximum number and satisfaction of graduates
of such quality, while conserving the necessary resources - Challenging our students in many ways and providing targeted individual support,
according to their talents and readiness; in addition, transparency with clear assessments,
irrespective of gender and origin - while treating each other with respect. - Open and constructive cooperation with my colleagues as well as external partners,
guided by the requirement to achieve the maximum benefit for the above goals together. - Useful and at the same time mindful and sustainable application of my energy,
with continuous optimisation.
What motivates me:
- Devotion to exact natural sciences and the application of this knowledge guided by values
- Enthusiasm for the Weihenstephan campus (know-how, diversity and location)
- Making use of the many opportunities and contacts in the Munich bioregion, as well as beyond it
