Frequently asked questions about the semester fee
-
When do I have to pay the semester fee?
To re-register for the next semester, you must pay the semester fee within a re-registration period, which is set by the HSWT each semester by official announcement.
Re-registration for the 2026 summer semester runs from 8 January to 23 January 2026.
The payment deadline for applicants ends each semester together with the deadline for submitting documents (application for the winter semester 23 September / application for the summer semester 10 March).
The semester fee must be received in the State Treasury account by the end of the aforementioned deadlines. Currently, payment of the semester fee is only possible by bank transfer.
-
Where can I find the transfer data?
In MyCampus, you will findthe current transfer data at the start of the re-registration period in the „Student Services“ area. Here you will find, among other things, the bank details of the University of Applied Sciences and your individual reference for payment, which you must enter so that your payment can be allocated without any doubt.
First-year students can also find the transfer details after enrolment in the MyCampus portal in the „Student Services“ section when they log in again after the enrollment process.
-
What happens if I do not pay on time?
If you do not transfer the fee due on time, your re-registration for the next semester will not be completed and you will be exmatriculated at the end of the current semester.

What does Student Union Fee mean?
Students who are enrolled at HSWT must pay a basic contribution (Student Union Fee) per semester, which is levied by the University of Applied Sciences and passed on 100% to the respective Studierendenwerk.
The basic fees go back to the idea of the solidarity community from which the student unions originated. They are an important part of the financing of services for which the Studierendenwerk does not receive any subsidies or which the Studierendenwerk must co-finance with its own funds.
The Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern is responsible for the Weihenstephan campus, while the Studierendenwerk Erlangen-Nürnberg is responsible for the Triesdorf campus. This is why the amount of the student union fees, which have to be paid together with the semester fee, differs. You can find the respective amount here.
You can view the basic contribution regulations of the Munich Upper Bavaria Student Services Organisation here. You will also find some FAQs on the subject of student services contributions on the Student Services Organisation website.
