Prof. Ingrid Schegk

The subject and teaching area of Building Construction and Design includes the conception of constructive elements in Landscape Architecture from the preliminary design to the implementation stage.
This includes elements of solid construction, elements of skeleton construction and constructive elements of landscape architecture, each with regard to function, design and materiality.
Their design requires factual and technical knowledge of building materials and their interaction with the environment, of rules of technology as well as methodical and representational knowledge of the planning process of constructive design.

• Resource-efficient building materials and construction methods: Dry wall systems, built topography (stair research, terraced landscapes), vernacular Landscape Architecture, earthen construction methods, timber construction, recycled materials, energy balancing, bionic design.
• Digital planning methods and tools, (re)construction and virtual models, digital and multimedia learning and communication peripheries
• Process methodology, planning and quality management, especially in the field of implementation planning, detailing and rules of technology (e.g. standards in EU-wide comparison) in Landscape Architecture
