University Council
The University Council is one of the central bodies of the university. It supports the university management and fulfils supervisory board functions. For example, it elects the President and Vice-Presidents and decides on the basic regulations as well as the establishment, modification and cancellation of degree programmes. It is also consulted prior to the conclusion of university agreements in accordance with Art. 8 Para. 2 of the Bavarian Higher Education Innovation Act and determines whether the university has achieved the objectives set out in these agreements.
In addition to the elected members of the Senate, the University Council includes ten personalities from science, culture and, in particular, from business and professional practice. The members of the University Management, the Women's Representative of the University of Applied Sciences and a representative of the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts take part in the meetings of the University Council in an advisory capacity.
