Save the bees! Really!
Always wanted to know more about the bees and flowers? Are you ready to work with royal creatures? Do you want to harvest liquid gold?
If you want to get involved with our environment, get to know nature from a completely different perspective and learn more about the fascinating life of these little insects in the beehive - then you've come to the right place.
We meet regularly after lectures to inspect our bee colonies or to work on the apiary. A very special event is the joint honey extraction several times a year, which we also like to conclude with a pizza dinner or barbecue. Participation in all our meetings is of course voluntary, but well worthwhile. The AK Biene consists of about 20 students from a wide variety of majors. We also include about 15 queen bees and, in high season, about half a million worker bees and 12,000 drones. We welcome experienced beekeepers, those who want to become beekeepers, and students who are not afraid of bees.
You are welcome to stop by the apiary at Lange Point and get to know us. We look forward to meeting you! Honey-sweet greetings, the AK Bee

We are a dedicated group of students on the Management of Renewable Energies degree programme. Since the winter semester 2024, our working group (AK) has also been open to students studying Climate Protection and Climate Adaptation as well as Organic Food and Business. The working group originally emerged from a bachelor's thesis and has set itself the goal of bringing topics such as renewable energy, sustainability and climate change into schools.
Working closely with schools in Freising, we develop teaching units and workshops that we implement directly with the pupils. A particular focus is on ensuring that the participants can actively take part themselves - whether in experiments or interactive presentations. The project is currently running successfully in years 8 to 10, and the University of Applied Sciences is supporting us with materials and organisational help.
Are you studying one of the degree programmes mentioned and interested in getting involved? Just get in touch with us by email! We look forward to hearing from you and will be happy to answer any questions.

„We musicians, united by playing and singing, are friends for life.“
If you are still looking for a fun and friendly brass band as a change of pace from your studies, then you've come to the right place!
We are a student brass band that focuses on fun and friendship in addition to music. Our repertoire ranges from classical Bavarian-Bohemian brass music to modern and well-known pieces of brass music. In our weekly rehearsals we naturally work towards many performances during the semester. From musical framings to events of the university, to dormitory and May festivals, we do it all - not to forget the „Glühweinspielen“ of course!
Our music folders are well filled for the following instrument groups: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Tenorhorn, Baritone, Trombone, Tuba and Percussion. Of course, folders can be created for other wind instruments at any time!
We are looking forward to all musicians - no matter if beginner or professional!

The Knosporus campus garden is a non-profit garden for students. We have an area which we plant and enliven together. The garden team meets once a week to replant, weed or implement other projects. In addition, there is a plenary meeting about once every one or two months to discuss projects. Everything is organised collectively. In addition, the garden can be used freely during the rest of the time; it is always open for members to spend time there, to garden or to make a campfire in the evening. Sometimes there is also a party to enjoy our harvest and the garden together. The garden can not only be used by the members of Knosporus, but is also used for teaching events. For example, the module of the Campusackerdemie, where students learn to create a school garden with children.

The Freising University Group is a colourful bunch of students from various disciplines at TUM and HSWT on the Weihenstephan campus.
We are united above all by our enthusiasm and curiosity for nature. The university group is affiliated with the Bavarian Association for Bird and Nature Conservation (LBV) and the NAJU. In the university group, we connect on topics relating to biodiversity and nature conservation, improve our knowledge of species on excursions or at lectures and become active in practical nature conservation ourselves.
Our excursions range from nature walks in and around Freising to excursion series on butterflies and dragonflies, in which we get to know a wide variety of species in the most diverse habitats around Freising and Munich. Botany evenings to prepare for banu certificates (currently field botany bronze and silver) and nest box campaigns are also part of the programme. The university group is active in nature conservation, e.g. in monitoring building breeders and migratory birds, in the partridge protection project together with the district group of the LBV Freising or in the landscape conservation of LBV biotope areas.
In our newsletters, we draw attention to interesting events in Freising, Munich and the surrounding area, e.g. natural history excursions and lecture evenings organised by the local groups of nature conservation associations (register for the newsletter at https://freising.lbv.de/hochschulgruppe/%C3%BCber-uns/).
We also use the mailing list to invite people to our meetings and spontaneous activities. We also pass on the latest news from nature conservation and new job vacancies.
You will also receive short-term information and the opportunity to exchange observations via our WhatsApp group: https: //chat.whatsapp.com/Blb3WdIIfj710l91Aoz6dE.
So whether you are just starting to take an interest in birds or insects, for example, or are already a botany expert, just come along to our regulars' table, sign up for our newsletter or join our WhatsApp group.
We look forward to meeting you!

Are you queer or interested in queer topics? Are you looking for connection, exchange and want to meet new people at our University of applied sciences? - Then the Queer Kollektiv is the right place for you!
The Queer Kollektiv is an open place for queer people and interested parties at our University of applied sciences. We want to create a community in which everyone feels welcome and accepted. Together we want to plan and organise activities and events to make the queer community at our University of applied sciences more visible.
At our regular meetings, we talk about topics that are currently on our minds, play board games and listen to music. Of course, CSD visits, Christmas parties, baking biscuits and queer films are not to be missed.
The current dates can be found on Instagram. If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact us by email or DM. Just drop by and have a look.

Are you curious to experience yourself and others more authentically – on a deeper level?
At the „Free Movement Collective Freising“, we explore inner sustainability through mindful encounters, free expressive dance, and embodied emotions. Our gatherings invite you to quiet your mind, express what feels alive within you, and feel connected – both to yourself and to others.
We begin with a sharing circle, where everyone is welcome to speak about what’s currently present for them – physically or emotionally. After a joint warm-up, we move into guided exercises – solo and in groups – to help you connect with yourself and those around you. Some of these exercises are inspired by contact improvisation, a playful and mindful way of relating through touch, shared body weight, and spontaneous movement.
Throughout the session, you are invited to follow what feels right for you in each moment. That means you’re always free to step back, take a pause, or simply be with yourself if an exercise doesn’t resonate. Our motto is: “Everything is possible, nothing is a must.”
We then open the space for a 45-minute Jam – a free, non-guided dance space. You’re welcome to move alone, with a partner, or in a group – however it feels right for you. It’s not about dancing “correctly,” but about allowing what wants to move within you.
We close with a circle to gently reflect, share, and integrate the experience together.
No dance experience is needed – just curiosity and openness. Whether you want to release stress, deepen your body awareness, or simply move and connect: Come as you are. Move what feels alive in you – and grow. Together.
We communicate and facilitate in English. International students are warmly welcome.
We're looking forward to see you!

The Hochschul-SMD Freising is a Christian university group. We are a small but fine group of students from all disciplines and are also quite diverse in other ways: we come from different churches and communities, have different interests, ideas and favourite foods. What unites us is our faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that God has shown himself in Jesus and that everything that follows from dealing with him is relevant both for us and for our fellow human beings. As Christians at the University of applied sciences, we meet to share our faith and life with one another. Everyone is cordially invited to our weekly house group and action meetings.
