Democratic Landscape Transformation: Towards an Open Landscape Academy (OLA)

The Erasmus+ project "OLA - Democratic Landscape Transformation: Towards an Open Landscape Academy" is being carried out within the framework of the funding line "Cooperation partnerships in higher education" in cooperation with nine (inter)national partner institutions.

OLA stands for a systemic approach to the equal access to resources and includes the landscape, as well as civic engagement and participation. The focus of the project is on strengthening the role of higher education institutions in this broad field. "Countering the growing polarisation of our societies and distrust of democratic institutions calls on everyone - including higher education staff and students - to engage more actively with the communities around." This statement from the EU’s Renewed Agenda for Higher Education was the reason for the Project proposal. The higher education sector has extensive infrastructure as well as intellectual property that can be used to support civic Engagement within the framework of its own Third Mission Strategy should be activated. To make this process as effective and impactful as possible, the universities involved will collaborate with nongovernmental organizations that are involved in developing local communities.
