Your area of responsibility:
We are seeking highly motivated candidates (m/f/x) for a scientific research position to develop novel deep learning- and computer vision-based approaches in the fields of agriculture and sustainability.
- You will work primarily on field monitoring problems, such as detecting weeds or diseases in agricultural landscapes using imagery data and other sensor information.
- You will develop novel deep learning and computer vision-based approaches to address currently unsolved real-world challenges in this area.
- You will closely collaborate with crop production experts.
- You will write scientific publications and present your results at international conferences.
- You will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the development of a new research lab.
- The possibility of pursuing a PhD degree is strongly supported.
Your profile:
- Experience and interest in the following research areas: machine learning, deep learning, computer vision
- Strong programming background (preferably in Python) and experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch)
- Scientific curiosity, ability to work in a team and self-motivated working style
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- German language skills are a plus

You have a successfully completed academic university degree (Diploma [Univ.] or Master’s degree) in artificial intelligence, computer science, bioinformatics, statistics, physics or a comparable degree program.

Notes:
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date. Payment will be made in accordance with the provisions of collective bargaining law, up to pay grade E13 TV-L if the personal and collective bargaining requirements are met. Taking into account the requirements of the job, the position is also suitable for part-time employment.
