We for you: Elected students in the University Bodies

Whether it's events on campus, the use of study funds or participation in university committees - as a student you can actively shape life at the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf. For this purpose, the student parliament is elected annually. Together with the Speaker's Council and the departmental student council representatives, it forms the student representation of HSWT.

What are the tasks of the student council?

According to the Basic Regulations of HSWT (§ 54 Para. 1), the Student Parliament deals with the following tasks, while the Speaker's Council implements the resolutions of the Parliament:

  • the inter-faculty affairs of the students

  • enabling the formation of opinions within the group of students

  • participation in the fulfilment of the tasks of the University of Applied Sciences (Art. 2 BayHSchG), in particular through statements on fundamental university policy issues arising from the participation of the student representatives in the university bodies

  • representing the students' professional, economic, social and cultural interests

  • promoting gender equality among students in accordance with the university standards on gender and diversity

  • promoting the interests of students with disabilities in cooperation with the inclusion officer

  • promoting the intellectual, artistic and sporting interests of students

  • fostering relations with German & foreign students.

The student parliament consists of the two student representatives in the Senate, three members from each of the departmental student councils and twelve other elected students who stood in the university elections. The general email address is studierendenparlament@hswt.de.

HSWT Speakers' Council: Members & Contact

The Spokesperson's Council carries out the above-mentioned tasks in cooperation with the Student Parliament and implements the resolutions of the Student Parliament. The Spokesperson's Council consists of six members who are elected by the Student Parliament; they do not have to come from among the members of the Student Parliament.

Finance officer of the student parliament

The members of the student parliament in charge of the budget take care of the financial planning, draft the budget and ensure that it is adhered to. In addition, they are given the authority to sign the disbursement vouchers.

Departmental student council representatives of the HSWT

The departmental student council representatives represent the interests of the respective department and therefore perform the above-mentioned tasks on a departmental basis. The various representatives can be contacted via e-mail.
