Declaration on accessibility

The Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT) endeavours to make its website accessible without barriers in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Disability Equality Act (BGG) and the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

This Accessibility Statement (published on 30.03.2023) applies to the version of this website(www.hswt.de) currently accessible on the Internet, which was developed in accordance with valid Internet standards.

The following standards have been observed and complied with wherever possible:

  • the conditions of the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0),
  • the Web Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of the W3C,
  • valid CSS,
  • valid HTML code.

Which areas are not barrier-free?

We try to offer all new own PDF documents in accessible form. This means that screen readers can read them aloud without any problems. We cannot subsequently revise older PDFs, they are usually not accessible. Likewise, PDFs from other providers that we link to are often not accessible.

As things stand, not all video and audio files in our media library on YouTube are provided with subtitles or transcriptions. YouTube offers the option of activating automatically created subtitles, but these do not always accurately reflect the content.

Individual content elements used have fixed heading levels that do not always fit the hierarchy of the rest of the page or skip individual levels. These modules are currently being revised.

Report barriers

Should you nevertheless come across deficiencies in the barrier-free access to content on our pages, please send us an e-mail with a description of where you have noticed which barrier.
