The use of portable mini-sensors from the producer to the consumer is presented for the destruction-free quality determination. The aim of current work at the HSWT is the development of a fast and non-destructive measuring method for the quality assessment of foodstuffs (eg tomato) using portable food scanners, which work on the basis of near infrared spectroscopy (NIR).
