Course Ambassador for the Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture – Production, Trade and Services

Julia Wilhelm

“The course offers the perfect combination of practical experience and the acquisition of specialist knowledge.”

Why did you choose the Horticulture – Production, Trade and Services course?

Whilst researching online, I came across HSWT and, as a result, the Horticulture degree programme. I hadn’t realised before that a degree programme of this kind existed. I’ve always been interested in gardening and working outdoors, particularly because of the orchard on my family’s property. After reading the course description, it quickly became clear to me: this is what I want to study. When I then took a look at the campus in Weihenstephan, I was finally convinced that this was where I wanted to begin my studies.

What advice can you give to new students?

At first, the course might seem a bit overwhelming and sometimes even a bit too much to handle. But as time goes on, you’ll soon realise that it’s all quite good to handle. Of course, the same applies to Horticulture: you can’t make something out of nothing. If you approach the subjects with curiosity and are prepared to put in the effort – especially when it really matters – you’ll have a good time with your studies.
