    About BVU

The Bavarian Virtual University (BVU) is a network of Bavarian universities and universities of applied sciences. All students in member universities have the opportunity to participate in BVU’s online courses free of charge. The courses offered through BVU are created and overseen by lecturers from Bavarian universities and universities of applied sciences.

Using the Internet is a core skill that students can develop and strengthen by participating in BVU courses. BVU courses facilitate flexible, effective learning, independent of time and place. Students are supported by specially trained, experienced online tutors for the duration of the course.

The BVU programme currently includes courses from the following fields of study: informatics, engineering, natural sciences, teacher training, medicine and health sciences, law, cultural studies and social science, social work, core skills, business informatics, languages, and economics.
You will find comprehensive information on the Bavarian Virtual University at www.vhb.org. The course catalogue at kurse.vhb.org/ (in German) provides detailed descriptions and demo versions for all courses.

We recommend that students contact the examinations office or relevant examining committee in good time for information on recognising credits from BVU courses.

Students can register free of charge and will have immediate access to a 20-day demo account. Non-students who wish to participate in BVU courses for their own academic development can enrol for courses for a fee.
