The master's degree programme is aimed at graduates of diploma or bachelor's degree programmes from the areas of forestry and wood management. Different admission requirements may apply in justified exceptional cases following approval by the Examination Commission.
The classes at the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences are predominantly held in German. International students, whose native language is not German, must therefore provide evidence of their German language skills. Specific information can be found on the website for international applicants to the Weihenstephan-Freising University of Applied Sciences.
Admission is possible at both campuses and the relevant location's study guidelines and examination regulations will apply. The exact requirements for admission to Weihenstephan are indicated in the study guidelines and examination regulations for the degree programme in Regional Management in Mountain Areas.
You can start the course in both the summer and winter semester.
Currently we aim to have 25 students take part in the programme.
Application takes place online. The application period for the summer semester is between 6 December and 15 January and between 2 May and 15 July for the winter semester. The bachelor's certificate may be submitted until 5 March (for applications for the summer semester) or until 20 August (for applications for the winter semester).
Some of the lectures in Switzerland begin at the start of September. In order to speed up the application process, we recommend that the applicants keep an eye on the applicant portal after submitting all the documents required. Once the status "Zulassungsangebot liegt vor" (admission offer available) appears, applicants can accept their place and enrol directly within the portal.
If you have applied early, there is also the possibility of getting cheaper rooms at the Bern University of Applied Sciences during the allocation process.
You can find further information under the general application information at the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences.
You will find important dates in the annual course schedule here (in German).
