Course content

Food technology deals with the physical, chemical, microbiological, process-engineering, legal, and business administration aspects of food production. It is therefore an interdisciplinary engineering science. The programme content is accordingly wide-ranging, as are the future career opportunities.

After acquiring a sound knowledge of science, mathematics, and engineering science, you will become familiar with a large range of processes in industrial food production in various sectors. Practical instruction and excursions will help you to acquire expertise in planning, controlling, and monitoring food technology processes, conceiving and developing installations, and also operating installations. The practical training semester in an industrial company will further develop your skills.

A broad range of compulsory elective modules gives you the opportunity to broaden your skill set in certain sectors depending on your personal preferences and career goals.
