It has been used as fuel and for construction for millennia. In the modern world, we have developed a complex understanding of the forest as an ecosystem and appreciate the important role it plays in climate, biodiversity, recreation, and culture.
In this degree programme in engineering in forestry, you will not only learn about the complexity of the ecosystem, you will also acquire the skills needed for sustainable forestry management. In a very practice-based programme, supported by a wide range of practical work (primarily in the university's own training forest) and educational trips, you will learn the principles and tools for future management of the forest ecosystem.
