Course content

From time immemorial, forests have been used as a source of one of the most remarkable regenerative raw materials in the history of mankind: wood. It has been used as fuel and for construction for millennia. In the modern world, we have developed a complex understanding of the forest as an ecosystem and appreciate the important role it plays in climate, biodiversity, recreation, and culture.

In this degree programme in engineering in forestry, you will not only learn about the complexity of the ecosystem, you will also acquire the skills needed for sustainable forestry management. In a very practice-based programme, supported by a wide range of practical work (primarily in the university's own training forest) and educational trips, you will learn the principles and tools for future management of the forest ecosystem. You will also acquire ecological, economic, technical, and social skills in a broad-ranging programme. This challenging programme, conducted in a modern, friendly, and very well-equipped building, will put you in demand as an expert in forestry.
