The HSWT Dual Qualification Programme (Tandemprogramm)
The Dual Qualification Programme offers talented young professionals the opportunity to combine professional practice with academic teaching or research and thus qualify for a HAW professorship or for management and research tasks.
Promoting young talent at the interface between science and business
The Dual Qualification Programme is an innovative qualification measure to promote young academics. It offers talented young academics the opportunity to expand their practical, research and/or teaching experience in a targeted manner. By facilitating and accompanying the change of sector between the University of applied sciences and practice, the programme creates a valuable orientation opportunity towards a HAW professorship. At the same time, it strengthens the practical relevance of teaching and research at our University of applied sciences. The close cooperation with practice partners also optimises the synergies between science and practice.
Three possible „tracks“
The programme can be completed via three different tracks:
- Practice track: this track focuses on acquiring professional practice and is aimed at early career researchers with a doctorate who lack practical and teaching experience.
- Research track: This track focusses on gaining research experience. The track is aimed at university graduates and practitioners with a university degree that qualifies them for a doctorate. A doctorate may be possible if the admission requirements are met.
- Teaching track: This track emphasises the acquisition of academic teaching experience and is aimed at professionals (at least five years of professional experience, three of which must be outside the University of applied sciences) who have completed a doctorate.
The tasks of the Tandem staff at the HSWT vary depending on the track and usually include teaching courses, research tasks and participation in subject-specific or interdisciplinary qualification programmes. Participation in the Graduate Academy 's qualification programme and individual coaching sessions are included in the Dual Qualification Programme.
