We are modernising for you: Service restrictions in the HSWT libraries during the lecture-free period
The university library is switching to the new, modern FOLIO library system. This affects all areas of the library, including the library catalogue.
The modernisation has been taking place in the background for some time without any noticeable restrictions in use.
During the lecture-free period from 14/02/2026 to 15/03/2026, however, we will only be able to offer a reduced service due to the IT changeover:
Still possible without restrictions:
- Research in our library catalogue
- Access to e-media via the library catalogue and the corresponding platforms
- Issue of discharge certificates for exmatriculation
Service restrictions from 14.02.2026 up to and including 15.03.2026:
- All HSWT libraries remain completely closed!
- No lending of media
- No use of the self-checkout systems in the branch libraries
- No orders from the stacks and branch libraries
- No interlibrary loan requests
- No returns (the loan periods are automatically extended by the corresponding period)
- No reservations
- No self-renewals (media are automatically renewed)
- No application for library cards
- Catalogue: no access to library account and watch lists (please save watch lists, these will not be transferred to the new library catalogue)

From Monday 16 March 2026, all services will be available again without restrictions.
You will certainly notice our new library catalogue. It has been redesigned in a particularly user-friendly way with improved clarity, more filter options and an optimised design for mobile use.
Please remember to adjust your bookmarks for the catalogue accordingly after the changeover.
