Triesdorf Connect 2026: Platform for practice and career
Two days full of encounters, discussions and future prospects at the company contact exchange in Triesdorf.
On 28 and 29 April 2026, Triesdorf once again became a meeting place for pupils, students, companies and institutions, with well over 100 exhibitors presenting themselves in the forum of the Technical Centre for Energy and Agricultural Engineering and three other halls as well as the outdoor area of the Triesdorf Agricultural Education Institutes (LLA Triesdorf). Organised by the Association of Former Triesdorfers (VET) together with students from Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT), the event once again demonstrated how valuable personal exchange is for starting a career and recruiting young talent.
Two days - two topics
The first day of the fair, which focused on Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering, was opened by Susanne Gast, first chair of the Vereinigung ehemaliger Triesdorfer e.V., and Markus Heinz, Director of the Triesdorf Agricultural Education Institutes (LLA Triesdorf), as well as HSWT Vice President Prof Dr Ulrike Machold. The machines and technical exhibits on display generated a great deal of interest and provided numerous opportunities for dialogue. Students took the opportunity to ask practical questions and find out about internships, final theses and trainee positions.
The second day of the fair, which focused on nutrition, food, Environmental Engineering and energy and water management, was opened by Prof Dr Oliver Christ, department chair of the Environmental Engineering department, and Vice President Prof Dr Ulrike Machold. Both emphasised once again how important it is to make contacts during your studies. The fact that many companies were present on both days showed just how closely the topics of the two days of the fair are connected.
Physical proximity and professional expertise
One example of successful participation in Triesdorf Connect is Barbara Freitag-Müller and Celina Graf. Both were on site at Connect on behalf of Syngenta and are alumnae of the Triesdorf campus of HSWT. „It's the Triesdorf spirit that inspires me - I was a student in Triesdorf 20 years ago and still have close contacts with my fellow students,“ explains Barbara Freitag-Müller. The extraordinary thing about Triesdorf is the close link between theory and practice, which is made possible by the close proximity of the classroom to the field and the technical expertise on site.
Networking in the evening
At the get-together on the first evening, pupils, students, exhibitors, organisers and guests came together in a relaxed atmosphere to reflect on the day at the fair, continue good conversations, deepen contacts and, above all, thank the numerous helpers who had made a significant contribution to the success of the fair.
