Startups @ HSWT | Part 48: XOII Foods
In this series of interviews, HSWT presents start-ups that are associated with the University of applied sciences. The series introduces the companies, their product ideas and working methods.
Duong Nguyen, founder of XOII Foods, offers Asian vegan products made from regional organic ingredients in her start-up.
What products do you offer with XOII Foods and what sets you apart from other suppliers?
We produce authentic Asian tofu and other soya products (e.g. tofu pudding, soya drinks) from regional, organic soya beans. Our unique selling point is that we combine traditional Asian vegan cuisine with sustainable ingredients from Bavaria. By working together with the FSIWS, we can expand our production without losing any of our artisan quality.
How would you describe your career to date?
After completing my Master's degree in agricultural and food economics, I was initially involved in many agricultural projects between Germany and Vietnam before founding my start-up XOII Foods in Troisdorf. After moving to Munich, I am rebuilding the business here with excellent support from the FSIWS - and the infrastructure here is ideal for a small startup like ours.
What are your future plans?
We want to focus on workshops and events that bring the Asian vegan tradition to life for everyone. We are also planning new products and stronger community networking. That's why we're already looking forward to meeting the first interested people at our workshops and showing them all the things you can prepare with our organic Asian tofu.
