Project meeting of the „DUAHN“ research project at the Triesdorf campus
As part of the „German-Ukrainian Agricultural University Network 2025-2029“ (DUAHN) project funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), representatives from six Ukrainian universities and 12 colleges came to HSWT for the second time on 11 May 2026.
The participants were welcomed by Prof Dr Ralf Schlauderer at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT) and stayed for a week to focus on project-related topics such as data collection and contribution margin calculations. Another point of exchange was the International Online Semester 2026-2027, in which Ukrainian students will also participate. The practical exchange was consolidated with visits to Agriculture companies and industrial partners.
Signing of an agreement for double diplomas from HSWT and NUBIP
The highlight of this year's project meeting was the signing of a double degree agreement between HSWT and the National University of Life and Natural Sciences of Ukraine (NUBIP). HSWT President Dr Eric Veulliet and NUBIP Rector Prof Dr Vadym Tkachuk signed the agreement, which is intended to offer Master's students from both universities the opportunity to attend lectures at the partner university and receive a diploma for doing so. Christian Schuh, Iryna Tröster and Dr Matthias Kopp from HSWT as well as Dr Oleksandr Labenko and Dr Nataliia Kovalenko from NUBIP played a leading role in drawing up the agreement.
Special approach for the Agriculture sector
DUAHN is a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) that specifically supports the agricultural sector by improving teaching and training and strengthening relationships between universities of applied sciences and agricultural producers. According to project manager Prof Dr Ralf Schlauderer from the Agriculture, Food, and Nutrition department at HSWT, the aim is to promote partner universities and colleges through modern, practice-oriented training approaches and methods at various levels: „This ranges from the introduction of individual sub-modules in production economics to joint courses in our joint Master's programmes.“
