Martina Hudler is to become the new Commissioner for Equal Opportunities for Women in Science and the Arts

Dr Martina Hudler will take up the post on 1 October 2026. Her deputy will be Prof. Dr Jennifer Gerend, who has been serving as the representative since 2023.

On 27 May 2026, the Senate of the HSWT elected Dr Martina Hudler as the Commissioner for Equal Opportunities for Women in Science and the Arts in accordance with Article 22(3)–(5) of the Bavarian Higher Education Act (BayHIG). Prof. Dr Jennifer Gerend was elected as her deputy. The term of office is three years in each case.

Dr Martina Hudler has been a lecturer in the fields of hunting and wildlife management at the department of Forestry and Forest Management since 2019. Prof. Dr Jennifer Gerend was appointed Professor of Regional Management and Social Science Methods at the department of Agriculture, Food, and Nutrition in 2019.

The University Management and the Senate warmly congratulate Dr Martina Hudler on her election and thank Prof. Dr Jennifer Gerend for her commitment to date, which she will continue in her role as deputy chair. At the same time, they express their sincere thanks to Prof. Dr. Cristina Lenz from the Faculty of Landscape Architecture for her work as deputy chair since 2023.
