Ideas Award 2025: variety of ideas inspires jury

The talents presented their projects at this year's Ideas Award with great commitment, creativity and an impressive variety of ideas. The welcome address by Prof Dr Christoph Moning, Vice President for Research and Knowledge Transfer, already made it clear that all participants are winners - thanks to their contributions, the networks they created and the valuable experience they gained. Dr Veronika Hannus, Head of Start-up Support at SUN, highlighted the wide range of perspectives and specialist areas that became visible through the pitches.

Best idea

Nicole Keller(Business Management and Renewable Energy Entrepreneurship) received the prize for the best idea with „Bioeconomic Living“. Prize sponsor Timo Renz (Managing Partner, Dr. Wieselhuber & Partner) gave the laudatory speech and emphasised that successful ideas need the right timing, entrepreneurship and a strong vision. Keller impressed with its combination of technical networking and energy sharing in construction.

Best concept

Tobias Ramesberger(Environmental Engineering) was honoured for the best concept. He developed a training concept for dyke defence in the district of Passau, thereby strengthening regional flood protection. Prize sponsor Cornelia Horsch (Managing Director, Horsch Maschinen GmbH) emphasised the responsibility for society and the environment that Ramesberger has visibly taken on with his passion and idea.

Best pitch

Leonhard Meyer and Conrad von Frantzky(Environmental Engineering) received the prize for the best pitch with „Tribepods in the coral reef“. Award sponsor Antonius von Aulock (Head of Agricultural Management, HiPP) made it clear in his laudatory speech: the team impressed with their commitment, marketing and clear presentation. The presentation of a concept or idea is relevant to drive the development of an idea.

Best research

HSWT PhD student Philipp Aiglstorfer(Applied Science Centre (ASC) for Smart Indoor Farming) won the prize for the best research. He showed how cold plasma can improve the germination, growth and secondary metabolite production of medicinal plants in indoor vertical farming. Prof. Dr Christoph Moning, prize sponsor for the HSWT and the alumni association HSWT e.V., praised the ability to occupy important niches and tackle central challenges at the same time.

Special prize for Bioengineering (Sciences)

The special Bioengineering (Sciences) prize went to Felix Baumann(Applied Computer Science) for „Vibemind - Multiagent OS“. In his laudatory speech, prize sponsor Alexander Preißler (Chair, Friends of the Bioengineering (Sciences) department) emphasised the difficulty of developing new ideas in this field and praised Baumann's convincing approach and its potential applications.

All winners receive non-cash and cash prizes worth up to 1,000 euros, donated by the prize sponsors. The special Bioengineering (Sciences) prize is endowed with 500 euros.
