HSWT intensifies international cooperation in Central Asia
During a delegation trip, the HSWT signed a MoU with Turkestan College, thereby strengthening its international cooperation in professional development in Agriculture.
As part of a delegation trip to Kazakhstan, President Dr Eric Veulliet signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Turkestan Higher Multidisciplinary Agricultural College. This agreement was a key milestone of the trip and lays the foundation for long-term cooperation in the qualification of specialists and teachers. The agreement with Turkestan College provides for targeted support for teaching staff and regional agricultural experts and the development of joint professional development programmes.
Networking with politics, science and international organisations
The HSWT delegation, consisting of President Dr Eric Veulliet, Vice President Prof. Dr Carsten Lorz and Dr Aram Aristakesyan, Head of International Continuing Education, held talks with high-ranking representatives from politics, academia and international organisations. Dr Aristakesyan also met with other representatives:innen in Mongolia.
Among the discussion partners were the Ministries of Agriculture and Education, the World Bank Kazakhstan, the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and a delegation from the European Union. In addition to the signing of the MoU, the existing academic partnerships with the Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University (KazATU) and the Mongolian University of Life Sciences (MULS) were further intensified.
Training specialists at the HSWT
The HSWT also presented its international professional development and capacity building programmes and developed concrete proposals for specialised training measures for specialists from both countries. In the coming months, the first groups of specialists from Kazakhstan and Mongolia will travel to Bavaria to take part in the HSWT's further education programmes. These programmes will be held at the University of applied sciences, the Triesdorf Training Centre and other leading Agriculture institutions.
