Dr Andreas Striezel was honoured for his more than 25 years of service as a lecturer in organic farming, and in particular organic animal husbandry, at a certificate presentation ceremony.

Dr Striezel has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition since 1999. Since 2020, he has also been intensively involved in supervising students specialising in the module „Cultivation and animal husbandry methods in organic agriculture“ and has supervised the theses of over 30 students in this area.

An absolute stroke of luck

Dean Prof. Pflanz emphasised: „Dr Striezel is an absolute stroke of luck for our university, a strong pillar for application-oriented teaching and also for the connection to organic farming and its committees and institutions. “Until recently, Mr Striezel ran a successful veterinary practice together with his wife for many years and was therefore able to directly combine the latest practical findings with the lecture content and also organise exciting practical farms for excursions. „This double burden: being a vet, a lecturer at our university and at the same time a pioneer and thought leader for organic farming is an outstanding achievement.“

HSWT's door is always open

Even if not for regular courses in the future, we hope to be able to welcome Dr Striezel to campus from time to time, e.g. for lectures, conferences or excursions - the door of the HSWT is always open.
