University Council elects Claudia Brand as Vice President - Carsten Lorz re-elected
Prof Dr Claudia Brand is the new Vice President for Studies and Didactics. Prof Dr Carsten Lorz was confirmed as Vice President for International Affairs for a fourth term of office.
At the meeting of the University Council on 22 April 2026, Claudia Brand was elected for the term of office from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2029. She has been Professor of Automation and Computer Science at the Bioengineering (Sciences) department since 2016. From 2021 to 2025, she served as the department chair and has been the programme director since 2025. She succeeds Prof Dr Sabine Homann-Wenig as Vice President, who has been working to continuously improve teaching and teaching conditions at the HSWT since 2017.
Carsten Lorz has held the office of Vice President for International Affairs since 2017 and was re-elected for a further term of office from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2029. He has been Professor of Forest Soil Science, Geology and Site Science Principles of Forestry at the Department of Forestry since 2011.
