Curiocity Pop-up Science Centre in Freising extended until the end of 2026
The project, which was originally scheduled to last two months and involves HSWT as a partner, is already proving to be a success and is set to be extended until the end of the year at the Freising city centre site.
More than 10,000 visitors have already explored the hands-on exhibition on science and technology, including over 100 school, nursery and after-school care groups. Due to its popularity, the City of Freising and Sparkasse Freising Moosburg are supporting a second extension of the temporary use of the former shop premises in the city centre. This also ensures that the research carried out by Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT), a partner of curiocity, remains visible right in the heart of this university town.
Until 31 December 2026, children, young people and adults can discover topics from maths, computer science, natural sciences and technology (MINT) at more than 60 changing hands-on stations.
During the summer holidays: Hands-on fun for the whole family
During the summer holidays, the Science Centre is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm. In addition, the Bioblo Challenge, held in an activity area of around 30 square metres, invites visitors to work together to build the largest possible structures using the popular Bioblo building blocks. The programme is complemented by a variety of hands-on activities and events. The current holiday programme is regularly updated on the curiocity website.
Booking tool for school classes and groups now online
With the start of the new school year, mornings are once again reserved exclusively for schools, nurseries and after-school clubs. From Tuesday to Friday, four two-hour time slots are available between 9 am and 5 pm. In the mornings, groups of up to 50 people can take part; from 1 pm onwards, groups of up to 25 people. The focus is on exploring the hands-on stations independently.
An overview of the stations and supplementary learning materials is currently being developed and will be made available online in time for the 2026/27 school and nursery year. New: Group bookings now also available in the evenings
Private groups, companies and clubs can now also visit the curiocity Pop-up Science Centre outside regular opening hours. Exclusive evening openings can be booked for a flat fee. Enquiries can be sent by email to hallo@curiocity.de.
