Following approval by the University Council and the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts, President Dr Eric Veulliet has now officially taken up the post.

Since August 2020, Christian Klopfer has been Head of the Finance Department (ZA 2) at HSWT and representative of the chancellor, Dr Karla Sichelschmidt. With effect from 1 October 2026, the graduate in public administration (FH) will take on the role of chancellor.

Together with the chancellor, Christian Klopfer is already responsible for the strategic management of the ‘Digitalisation of Administration’ project. In his future role as chancellor, he also wishes to drive forward digitalisation at HSWT. He sees further challenges in areas such as internationalisation and collaboration, resource management for teaching and research, and staff retention and recruitment.

The University Council and the University Management warmly congratulate Christian Klopfer on his election and thank Dr Karla Sichelschmidt for her many years of outstanding service as chancellor of the HSWT.
