Best leftovers calendar developed at the Triesdorf campus
Students on the Nutrition and Food Sciences programme at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT) have developed a best leftovers calendar at the Triesdorf campus in collaboration with the climate protection management department of the Ansbach district office. The project was managed by Prof Dr Nausch (HSWT) and Ms Navarro Ortiz (Climate Protection Management, Ansbach District Office).
The calendar was created with the aim of providing regional and seasonal impetus to reduce food waste in the district of Ansbach. The calendar is part of the „Best Leftovers“ campaign, with which the district is actively committed to avoiding food waste. Month after month, it provides helpful tips on how to utilise leftovers, creative recipes and suggestions for sustainable food handling. Whether at home, at school or in the office: the „Best Leftovers“ calendar is a small step with a big impact - for more appreciation of our regional food and less food waste.
The calendar can now be downloaded digitally from the Ansbach district administration's climate protection homepage - every portion counts!
The accompanying exhibition „Best Leftovers“ can be seen in the foyer of the Ansbach District Office until the end of February 2026. Details can be found in their press release.
