The annual Weihenstephan University Forum on Horticulture combines academic exchange, a festive atmosphere and the further development of the alumni network. Once again this year, the programme will include the presentation of the Weihenstephan Engineers’ Association’s honorary award in the field of Horticulture.

Technical management: Prof. Dr Michael Beck
Water is one of the key resources in Horticulture. Climate change, stricter regulations and higher quality requirements make this topic a strategic area for the future in teaching, research, consultancy and practice.
As part of the Weihenstephan University Forum on Horticulture 2026, current challenges and innovative solutions for sustainable water management in horticulture will be presented and discussed. The focus will be on scientific findings, technical developments and practical strategies for the efficient use and safeguarding of water resources.
Experts from research, consultancy and practice will provide insights into current developments and outline prospects for sustainable Horticulture management.

Association Once again this year, the Weihenstephan University Forum for Horticulture will provide a fitting setting for the award ceremony in the field of Horticulture.
This year’s honorary award winner is Finn Schachtschneider, co-owner of Schachtschneider Stauden und Marketing GbR in Neerstedt/Oldb. and publisher and creator of the horticultural learning and quiz app ‘Green Learning’.

Alumni gathering
On the evening of 26 June, we invite all our graduates, as well as all lecturers, students and friends of the programme, to the alumni gathering. The Association of Weihenstephan Engineers (Verband der Weihenstephaner Ingenieure e. V.) will provide a lavish buffet. In a convivial atmosphere, new contacts will be made and existing ones further strengthened this year. We look forward to seeing you there!
