The Peatland Science Centre and DGMT e.V. invite you to a peatland conference in Bavaria, characterised by Alpine foothills and Alpine moors. Under the motto „From knowledge to action“, it combines research with practice.
The Peatland Science Centre(PSC) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Moor- und Torfkunde e. V. (DGMT) are jointly organising the 2026 annual conference. All interested parties and colleagues from Germany and the countries bordering the Alps are cordially invited to come together to discuss peatland ecosystems. The special focus will be on mire landscapes in the Alpine region.
The programme spans three days and combines classic formats such as lectures, posters, thematic sessions and excursions. The final design of the programme will be determined once the contributions have been received.
On Saturday there will be the opportunity to take part in all-day excursions. Worthwhile destinations would be a trip to the Bavarian Donaumoos - the largest fen in southern Germany with agricultural use and ongoing development projects or to the Schechenfilz, a successfully renaturalised, near-natural raised bog.
To get the conference off to a good start, a short introductory programme and a subsequent get-together are planned for the afternoon of Wednesday, 09.09.2026.
Call for Abstracts
We invite you to submit your abstracts by 30 April 2026 to the e-mail address jahrestagung2026@dgmtev.de. We will compile the scientific programme after receiving the abstracts.
Registration
Registration for the conference is possible until 30 June 2026 via the DGMT website.
