A fresh approach to safety in cattle farming: Discover innovative solutions for breeding bull pens and practical recommendations that make working with cattle safer and effectively reduce the risk of accidents.
Working with cattle is part of everyday life in agriculture. At the same time, it involves considerable risks to both people and animals, particularly when handling breeding bulls and in challenging working situations. To improve safety in cattle farming in the long term, practical and innovative solutions have been developed as part of the ‘Safe Cattle Farming’ project, led by Prof. Dr Dr Eva Zeiler (research assistant Lea Staber) at the Department of Sustainable Agriculture and Energy Systems.
The results of the project will be presented at the event. The focus will be on new approaches to the safe design of breeding bull pens, as well as recommendations for the safe handling of cattle in day-to-day farm operations. The concepts developed will be presented and explained using practical examples.
