„Livelihoods in transition: How is climate changing the environment and Agriculture?“

How safe are our livelihoods in times of climate change? Water, soil, plants - what we need to live is changing. The effects of climate change have long been noticeable, but what does this mean in concrete terms for our environment and Agriculture? What opportunities and risks are arising - and how can we counter them?

The cross-faculty highlight event of the Public Climate School at the Triesdorf campus invites you to get to the bottom of these questions. In four compact short presentations, experts from research and practice will provide insights into current developments and future scenarios:

• Prof Dr Peter Breunig (LT): „Scenarios for climate-neutral Agriculture in Bavaria“
• Prof Dr Michael Rudner (UT): „Climate change and plant cover - range shifts and invasive species“
• Josef Wiedemann (LT): „Wonder grain barley - how domestic barley can provide a climate-friendly, healthy, tasty and affordable diet“
• Prof Dr Andreas Hoffmann (UT): „Effects of climate change on domestic waters“

This will be followed by a panel discussion in which the speakers and the audience will discuss key issues in greater depth. Prof Dr Christ (UT department chair) will moderate the discussion. Questions from the audience are welcome!

This event offers in-depth knowledge, new perspectives and space for exchange - for everyone who is committed to sustainable agriculture and the environment.
The Public Climate School offers a wide range of other climate-related events. All events are free of charge and open to all interested parties - whether pupils, prospective students, city dwellers, students, staff, experts or practitioners: Everyone is welcome.
