The Bavarian Horticultural Association and the Institute of Horticulture at HSWT invite you to a series of talks and a discussion on the topic of peat reduction.

The aim of a number of research projects at the Institute of Horticulture at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT) is to support horticultural businesses in reducing the proportion of peat in growing media. In addition to providing specialist information and direct on-site support, the initiative also aims to encourage the exchange of experiences between businesses.

Three specialist presentations will be offered for those interested in the current event:

  • Sustainable advice, good sales: a focus on peat-free growing media (Anna-Maria Mack, HSWT)
  • Less peat, more risk? Assessing crop safety correctly (Sarah Waldinger & Max Wurmer, HSWT)
  • Effects of peat reduction – calculation rather than gut feeling (Sabrina Siegmund & Anette Stadler, HSWT)

After the lunch break, there will be an opportunity to visit the Böck nursery (Hochfeldweg 21, 85646 Munich).

Registration

Participation in the event is free of charge. Registration is open until 12 July 2026.
