Health and well-being from the garden – a full-day seminar on age-appropriate nutrition and growing suitable produce in the garden. Talks accompanied by a guided tour and practical examples in the allotment garden for vegetables and fruit.

Course leader

Thomas Jaksch, BEng (FH), former manager of the allotment garden for fruit and vegetables.

  • What options do growers have to positively influence the health benefits and flavour of their produce through cultivation methods and growing conditions? The focus is on vegetable varieties with particularly high health benefits.

Dr Yvonne Braun, qualified ecotrophologist, nutritionist (DGE), specialist in allergy nutrition (DAAB) yvonne-braun.de

  • The nutritionist will discuss physiological changes associated with ageing and the importance of a high-quality diet for this stage of life. Key components of a healthy diet will be explored in detail – from minerals and fibre, through to phytochemicals and so-called ‘superfoods’.
