Cooling through building greening

As summers get hotter and hotter, summer heat insulation in residential buildings is becoming increasingly important. However, the increasing use of air conditioning systems leads to higher energy consumption and makes it more difficult to achieve climate targets, and to counteract this, the Department of Environmental Engineering at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences is developing an innovative green roof element designed to reduce the cooling requirements of buildings. Measurements on an outdoor test stand and simulations help to realistically assess the cooling effect and energy savings of green roofs. Register for online participation. This event is part of the HSWT's contribution to the Public Climate School, the open climate university.
