The Institute of Food Technology places particular value on research with a direct application. Our aim is always the real transfer of knowledge into practice, whether as product or as process.
The institute conducts research in close cooperation with the Department of Horticulture and Food Technology. The teaching on the food technology degree programme is imbued with knowledge and experience from this research.
The Freising-Weihenstephan science campus brings together the skills of the various specialisms relevant to food. In research and teaching, all of the subject areas are covered from raw material production through processing to marketing. Combining interdisciplinary networking with a strong relationship to the practical world, you will find the ideal conditions here for successful research and development.
