50 years of Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences: The faces and stories

Joe Engelhardt

Joe Engelhardt studied "Landscape Management" at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (formerly Weihenstephan University of Applied Sciences) in 1991. During his studies, he developed the Heudrusch procedure, which he now uses in the company of the same name to ecologically enhance areas. "Heudrusch® makes it possible to plant areas with native plants. Within a very short time, high-quality habitats are created with plant communities that have been adapted to the soil and climate for centuries. The floristic identity of the region and its biological and genetic diversity are preserved". For the cultivation of individual areas, Joe uses highland cattle, which he cares for lovingly and this has given rise to his motto 'powered by Heudrusch, performed by highland cattle'.
