50 years of Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences: The faces and stories

Astrid Wöhrl

Astrid Wöhrl studied Agribusiness Marketing and Management (now known as Agribusiness) at the university until 2003. Together with her husband, Hans Reichl, she opened the 'AmVieh Theater' – an event location offering a cultural venue, gastronomy and an eco hotel – on their organic farm. The AmVieh Theater is about 60 kilometres north of Munich, surrounded by grain fields, clover meadows and pastures. The name ‘AmVieh’ means 'Among livestock', and it certainly lives up to its promise: visitors here are surrounded by sheep, llamas, alpacas and many other animals and can get together for a culinary experience – over coffee and cake, a five-course evening meal and now even an Ayurvedic cookery course. Astrid Wöhrl’s aim is to share and pass on "the joy of wonderful food". Anyone looking for inspiration can find detailed information and all event dates on the homepage. And if you would like to stay a while longer, you have the option to check into the small hotel constructed from wood, camp in your own motorhome or rent 'Wolpi', a self-contained cabin in the style of a wooden circus trailer.
