  • June: International exchange between a Bulgarian university in Stara Zagora and HSWT’s Language Centre focusing on English as a specialist language.
  • July: Signing of the target agreements (Zielvereinbarungen) with the Free State of Bavaria, represented by State Minister for Science and the Arts Bernd Sibler and HSWT President Dr Eric Veulliet, for national and international networking of universities, as well as digitalisation
  • November: International rectors’ conference 'International Future Day'; conclusion of several international cooperation agreements, the HSWT International School is established

  • November: Annual international UNIcert® workshop for foreign language teachers at the HSWT Language Centre on the Weihenstephan campus


  • HSWT makes it into Germany’s top ten universities in the Erasmus+ partner countries best practice project
  • HSWT goes to the coast – Start of the 'CO-LAND Inclusive Coastal Landscapes' project as part of the 'Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships' programme
  • May: 6th LE:NOTRE Landscape Forum in Weihenstephan 'Inclusive Landscapes in the North of Munich'
  • September: The agreement between the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and HSWT to fund students and research projects in Africa is signed by Federal Development Minister Dr Gerd Müller
  • September: Interdisciplinary field trip to Western France to visit agricultural, social and ecological projects





  • Start of the Language Centre’s annual German/French online teaching projects in cooperation with the French partner university Agrocampus Ouest
  • January: Start of the annual international New Year’s celebrations as part of a German/Spanish/Turkish/Russian initiative run by HSWT staff.
  • June: HSWT’s International Master in Agricultural Management degree programme receives award in the MOOC competition
  • August: International rectors’ conferencen to restore the International Agricultural Network



  • The HSWT is awarded the 'E-quality' quality seal for its outstanding merits and achievements as part of the ERASMUS exchange programme


  • Continuation of the 'International Master of Landscape Architecture' master’s degree programme (IMLA) as a cooperation between HSWT and Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences, increase in project cooperations with partner universities in Europe and beyond
  • Workshop with representatives from the timber and forestry industries to determine the content of the planned international master’s degree programme 'International Management of Forest Industries'


  • June: The International Master in Agricultural Management master's degree programme is awarded a quality label by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German 'Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft' for being one of the ten best international Master’s degree programmes at German universities






  • Establishment of the International postgraduate programme in Agricultural Management (until 2000)
