International Year of the Woman Farmer (IYWF 2026)

The United Nations (UN) has declared 2026 the International Year of the Woman Farmer (IYWF 2026). This year highlights the important role women play in agricultural and food systems.

IYWF 2026 at HSWT

Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT) is participating in the IYWF with contributions and events by and for women working in agriculture or within food systems. Whether they work in teaching, research, or day‑to‑day on their own farms or in production — they all play a vital role. As part of the campaign, we aim to help make women in agricultural and food systems more visible.

Empirical study: Women in Agriculture

As part of the interdisciplinary study module ‘Methods and Economics of Animal and Plant Production’, students on the Agriculture programme at Triesdorf carried out an empirical study entitled ‘Women in Agriculture’.
