HSWT is one of Germany's top Universitys of Applied Sciences
Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT) is one of the top 10 most popular universities in this year's StudyCheck Awards. In the category of 5,000 to 15,000 students, HSWT was ranked 5th out of 42 universities in Germany and also achieved an excellent 5th place in the Bavarian ranking.
StudyCheck 's ranking is based on all published experience reports from the past calendar year 2025. 87,093 assessments from 583 universities were analysed - of these, 434 went to HSWT. At least 250 assessments are required for an award. The ranking of the individual universities is then determined by the so-called score value, which is formed by the star rating and the recommendation rate of the students.
Green University of applied sciences scores multiple times
With a score of 9.09 out of a possible 10 points, Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences is one of the top performers in the 5,000-15,000 students category, coming in 5th place. In the overall ranking of the most popular German universities, it is ranked 10th out of 51, making it one of the top 10 most popular universities in Germany and Bavaria. HSWT achieved an excellent score of 97 per cent, particularly in the recommendation category.
Particularly popular with HSWT students: the programme content, lecturers, courses and facilities were each assessed with four or more „stars“. The top 5 study programmes at the green university include the Bachelor's degree programmes in Agriculture Weihenstephan, Horticulture and Food Technology at the Weihenstephan campus and the Bachelor's degree programme in Environmental Engineering at the Triesdorf campus.

StudyCheck claims to be one of the online portals with the widest reach in the field of universities and studies in Germany and publishes assessments by students and alumni of their degree programmes. Once a year, the portal uses various parameters to calculate a ranking of universities and universities of applied sciences according to their popularity and satisfaction ratings.
