Working Group on Vegetation Databases

Since 2002 the German working group on vegetation databases has been organising yearly workshops with financial support by the Federal Angency for Nature Protection (BfN). We cover the capture, maintenance, dissemination and analysis of vegetation data and co-operate with the IAVS ecoinformatics group. As the group's speaker I inform members via mailing list (currently 220 addresses) about activities in our field.

Products

VegetWeb - the national online database of vegetation plots from Germany.
GermanSL - electronic taxonomic reference list for botanical field surveys in Germany and adjacent regions

Project Vegetweb 2.0

Since October 2013 we have started the project Vegetweb 2.0 lead by Dr. Florian Jansen/Greifswald, funded by the "Bundesprogramm Biologische Vielfalt".
